Please make sure you go through your MARS TWO technical checklist before hitting the record button:
Each character submission will end up being 2min or less. Feel free to send long takes or more than one video if more than one character is speaking to you.
NOTE: You are not responsible for editing your own video.
Shooting should be done in the LANDSCAPE (HORIZONTAL) format.
Optimal Resolution for iPhone/Android: SETTINGS —> CAMERA —> 1080p HD at 30fps
After you hit record, wait 3 seconds in silence before you begin talking. Once you are finished, wait 3 seconds before stopping the video. This will be edited out later.
We LOVE additional material. This includes unused takes and outtakes. Please send them along. The more material we have to work with, the more options in the edit to play with.
Try to minimize as much background audio noise as possible when recording.
Include a CHARACTER SELFIE in your submission to be used as your PROFILE photo.
Please make sure we have the correct spelling of your character’s FIRST / LAST name, where in the world they are submitting from and your personal Instagram handle (for tagging).
AVOID recording in front of BRIGHT WINDOWS and BLANK WALLS. They aren’t as cool as the rest of the potential backdrops you could use.
Finally, HAVE FUN and BE CREATIVE with your videos. You want to: utilize multiple locations, great; shoot green screen, great; wear costumes, makeup, great; stunts, just be careful. The more original, creative, and well planned they are, the more likely they will get our attention.
All videos can be uploaded via Dropbox.com, Google Drive, WeTransfer.com, or any other file sharing service.
